About the Course

Yes. The program is delivered over a period of fourteen (14) months, specifically, fifty (50) weeks allowing for scheduled holiday periods. The structure is two (2) face to face training day per week with a duration of eight (8) hours. This program has been developed to support students with no prior experience in the security sector to develop depth of knowledge and skills over time. The program incorporates greater face-to-face class room-based activities, role plays and scenarios to provide workplace context and self-reflection to support the integration of learning. To ensure adequate training is provided and adequate assessment is conducted, the program of study for this qualification is comprised of: Face to face training Self-paced study Self-paced research Role plays, case studies and Self-reflection activities Underpinning knowledge assessment (face to face) Case scenario assessment (self-paced) Practical assessment (face to face and self-paced) Ongoing communication driven by the trainer and assess Ongoing training driven by the trainer and assessor Ongoing student support provided by the trainer and assessor which may include additional tutoring one day per month for each unit Assessment will be conducted after the student has had time to learn, understand and process the delivered subject matter.

Marking and Assessing Your Work

You will be required to submit a hard copy to your Trainer.

The Training Day

Typically the course runs between 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. Your trainer has discretion on the number of breaks. Usually, there will always be a morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea break in addition to smaller coffee breaks as the group requires.

Location, Parking and Food

The training will be conducted on the Gold Coast. Our main training room is located in the Tallebudgera Sports and Recreation Centre. Tallebudgera Leisure Centre, 1525 Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach North, Qld and we also have rooms at West Burleigh, Currumbin, Mermaid Beach. The final location will be confirmed before your course begins. There is free parking at all locations.
